Letter to mother plus two cuttings re: Valetta Sea-plane trial (January 1931)

My dearest Mother,

I do hope that by now Dad is feeling much better, and that you are well.

The large seaplane in the ‘Daily Mail & Times’ photographs enclosed is one which I had to go to see about at Rochester on Tuesday.

I had a flight in it for 35 mins. and in the 34th minute I was most horribly sick. However, I enjoyed the first half of the flight although the weather was bumpy. We passed over Chatham, Southend & the Thames estuary. The machine is beautifully equipped and seats fifteen passengers.

I am frightfully busy at the works just now, & likely to be for some time. We all keep well. Much love from Marjorie & Posh & me.

Your own loving son

Harold
