Letter re: move to RAW as Chief Technical Officer, with press cutting (July 1931)

My dearest Mother,

You will see by the enclosed that I am going back to Bedford in charge of the Technical & Scientific side. Our days in the hotel are numbered, but I do not yet know when we are actually moving. I shall be glad to be back at R.A.W. but sorry in many ways to leave here.

I am not sure whether Collins will remain at Cardington, or whether a place will be found for him on the administrative side with the new director at the Air Ministry. If he stays at RAW he will be under me, which will be a bit awkward.

I got no further promotion out of this move, but shall have sufficient I hope to make us comfortable after a few months.

Well, no more news. I expect G’ma will like to see the enclosure, which is from ‘The Times’.

With love to you both from M & P & me.

Your own son
