Letter re: 'Flight' reporting on his appointment (February 1938)

4.2.38

My dearest Mother,

Thank you for your nice letter. I thought you would be interested in the newspaper report. Many other papers had similar statements ‘Flight’ is the most comprehensive:  I will show it you soon. I hope the references will be as complimentary in a years’ time:  it will not be easy to satisfy all the interests we are supposed to serve.

Our manservant is shaping well. He is a quite distinguished looking person.

The outside of the house is being cleaned up now. So we shall be looking quite smart when you come to see us. I hope we can arrange a date soon.

With love from us all,

Your own son

Harold

P.S. The boys like their school. C is very pally with the son of the Siamese Ambassador
